From Midlands Noir to Metro 2033

Having reflected yesterday on the darker side of life in the South Midlands circa 1986 @ http://the-edge-of-town.blogspot.com, I’ve now been transported to the year 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky’s post-apocalyptic novel of the Moscow underground – http://dglu.livejournal.com

Beginning  life on-line, this novel  has since become a computer game and European sensation. It is not surprising that the author is in discussion with Hollywood-based studios about a film version. Like “The Millennium Trilogy”, albeit much darker, Metro 2033 catches the Zeitgeist.
