Why do men feel victims of women (on bikes) ?

Last week, whilst walking home one evening, I encountered two men, at separate points, who had  recently “picked a fight” with me in the street and come out the worse for it, although no physical violence was involved. There were also no problems on this occasion as both men were in the company of others, and we were all on foot. On the previous occasions, both very different, one man had been in a vehicle when he decided to have a go at me (I was on my bicycle), and the other was walking a Rottweiler (I was also on my bike). Perhaps there’s something about a woman on a bike which holds some deep terror for man, although I’m not sure what this could be. Alternatively, it could be that men are inherent bullies who also like to play the victim when it suits them. Sounds more like it.
